They have a new menu and they eliminated the dim sum carts except for the weekend! They renovated interior now includes Bakery 1908 inside this location. (See my new review) The dim sum is now prepared during the week by special order and is fantastic! It's better than it was before. There is a 15 - 20 minute wait for them to prepare your request and they came out piping hot and delicious. Service was great and the new atmosphere is clean. Hopefully this represents the new Yummy House that is being built in Ocala on SW 27 Avenue. The price point has increased and our lunch for five items was $55 for two including a 20% tip Still the best dim sum in Gainesville

Would not recommend for dim sum, I usually don’t leave reviews for places but the quality and service was unacceptable. For some context, the bill attached is only for one person. For $63 dollars, the quality of the food is edible at best, the dumplings I got were cold which is impressive seeing how they were gotten off the cart. Speaking of the cart, it took me asking a waiter for the cart to come to my table which I waited 15 minutes for. As for the other dishes, all of them were under seasoned, and $13.95 for a plate of vegetables is straight robbery. Would not recommend. Would give zero stars if possible.

Went for lunch. Service was slow and ignoring for about 20 minutes after arrival. Many tables available but host wanted to seat us at back near kitchen. Not off to a good start. Good food though and after order was finally taken, the two servers we ended up with were accommodating. We’ve been to YH location in Ocala many times before in the past but they closed a couple years ago and doesn’t seem YH is ever going to reopen a location there again even though listed on their website. Website seems out of date. Terrific hot & sour soup. Prefer without seafood but seems to be a problem for some servers to leave it out. Ocala location always accommodated. Lunch was $95 for two. We didn’t order off lunch menu though. The dumplings were yummy. Rice was great texture but not crazy for the mini corns they include in fried rice. Wasn’t mentioned on menu. Should have asked. Basically it was mini corns, eggs, cilantro in their veggie fried rice. Unfortunately, disappointed in menu description vs. what was served. Spicy Szechuan Chicken was anything but spicy. More of a reddish sweet sauce. Always had this dish in Seattle with a black bean sauce and spicy. The beef dish was

I don't normally dine in, but when I did they sat me directly next to a group of very busy and loud tables. The atmosphere is not great for eating in. I ordered tonight and the food tasted different like someone maybe doesn't know the recipe? Everything was different from the soup to the fried rice. The sesame chicken tastes like burnt honey, the soup tasted solely like the bok choy. I called and let them know and they have given a store credit for the order. I'm pleased with the outcome.

This is my favorite chinese food restaurant in Gainesville for authentic American chinese food. As far as i know, you cant find dim sum anywhere near here like you can get in this place. Delicious. One thing I dislike is the coating on dishes like sweet and sour pork etc. should be crispy on the outside and still not be dried out in the center. Every time i come here its different. 1st time it was perfect but never since. Ive had it crispy on the outside but hard and stringy on the inside then this last one the pork was only a tiny bit dry but there was almost no crispy coating at all. The sauce was out of this world and so were the bell peppers. Then the fried rice was perfectly done and the vegetables with garlic sauce were so fresh and not overly cooked and had crispness still. That sauce ! Omg! Please fix your sweet and sour pork and similar dishes to have a nice crispy coating and tender insides and make them consistent and then this place will be perfect. If only you could recreate the Sweet and Sour Pork from the street stalls we used to get in Kuala Lumper back in the 70’s and 80’s. What I wouldn’t give for that!
